barefoot in october
i like walking
on the warm, black asphalt
barefoot in october.
i like
the feeling of the gravel
and grit
getting stuck between my toes.
i like tripping
and taking a layer of skin off my feet
and i like skipping on the warm, black asphalt
amidst the stinging pain,
barefoot in october.
